Andrew Mesuraca, co-owner and founder of Basil & Prime, has been in the food industry for over 30 years! Before starting his venture with Basil & Prime, he was the owner of Dix Hills Meats. To this day, customers still come all the way from Dix Hills to do business with him, right here in Albertson; now that's what we call loyalty & dedication! Andrew is a master butcher by trade and is passionate about his love for preparing & sharing our prime cuts & homemade prepared foods.
Christina Nicolia, co-owner and founder of Basil & Prime, brings a top quality flare to the business with her enthusiasm for cooking & entertaining. She loves being able to share recipes & ideas with both customers and the staff alike. When she's not putting together one of our luxurious custom made gift baskets, she can be found around the store looking to improve any and all aspects of it. Her degree in holistic nutrition helps Basil & Prime focus on real, healthy, great tasting food.
At the young age of 36, he already has 20 years of extensive experience in the food industry. A local native, he was classically trained and graduated from the Long Island Culinary Academy in 2009. He's worked for James Beard Award semi-finalists and cooked at the James Beard House in 2018. Chef Jon helped us launch Basil & Prime back in 2017 and has now rejoined forces to bring our gourmet market to a whole new level. Come in and try some of the newly inspired dishes he's been putting together. Not only do they look beautiful, but they taste incredible!
